So  you want to learn how to opera sing? This is  a special field  and will take an extreme amount of focus and practice. The good news is if you work  hard the pay off could be astronomical. Here are 3 quick pointers to  get you  started.

First, you will need to learn the basics of singing to begin with. You can do this by surfing around online.
Though I recommend starting with something more simple like joining a church choir or community glee club.  You  could also  do the standard method, and seek a vocal teacher for private  or group lessons. If  you live near college or high school they can normally recommend a few.

Then, once you have learned the basics of singing. You  should learn a foreign language  such as French, German,  or Italian. This is mainly because most opera is performed in one of these languages. Even simply studying  English can be a great help to you when learning how to sing opera.

Another strong recommendation is to listen to the great singers and study them. For the men , it would be Luciano Pavarotti or Placido Domingo . For the women it could be Joan Sutherland or Marilyn Horne. They have sung opera  for years! By simply listening to them and studying their performances one can learn a great deal.
